TeamUp alternative

The TeamUp alternative your members will actually like

Let’s be straight: TeamUp is good software and owners generally like it. This page isn’t going to pretend otherwise. There are two places it hurts, and both are the sort of thing you only feel once you’re in it — what your members experience when they open the booking app, and a price that goes up as you fill the room.

Why studios and gyms switch from TeamUp

01

The member app is the storefront

TeamUp’s member booking app is rated 1.2 out of 5 on Google Play in the UK and 1.6 out of 5 on the UK App Store. Those complaints don’t reach TeamUp — they reach you, at the front desk, about software with your studio’s name on it.

02

Growing shouldn’t cost you more

TeamUp prices by how many active customers you have, so the bill steps up as you fill classes. We don’t charge by member count. The number of people in your room is your business, not a billing input.

03

Independent, and staying that way

TeamUp was acquired by DaySmart — backed by LLR Partners and Parthenon Capital — in September 2022. Strong OS is founder-owned with no investors and nothing to exit to.

04

Moving a booking shouldn’t cost you twice

Shifting a member to another class shouldn’t mean cancelling and rebooking, and paying the processing fee on both. Small thing; it happens all week.

05

A real person, not a queue

Hands-on onboarding, your data moved for you, and the founder on the other end afterwards.

TeamUp is the platform the fitness community most often recommends, and deservedly. Owners rate the admin side highly and the support has a real reputation. If your members are happy and you’re not near the top of your pricing band, there is no crisis here — this is a comparison for people who already feel one of those two things.

Switching from TeamUp — your questions

Is TeamUp bad? Everyone recommends it.+

No, and we’re not going to argue that. Owners like TeamUp and the support has a good name. The two honest gaps are the member booking app — 1.2★ on Google Play UK, 1.6★ on the UK App Store — and pricing that rises with your active member count. If neither of those is biting, stay where you are.

How is your pricing different from TeamUp’s bands?+

TeamUp’s pricing calculator charges by how many active customers you have, so growing pushes you up a band. Ours is flat — the same whether you have 90 members or 290. We’ll give you the number on the call and you can put it next to your current bill.

Why does the member app matter so much?+

Because it has your name on it. When a member can’t stay logged in or a booking silently fails, they don’t review the software — they message you, or they stop coming. It’s the least visible reason studios switch and the one members actually care about.

Can you move us off TeamUp without disrupting members?+

We move your members, memberships, class packs and remaining credits, and we do it — not you. If your memberships collect by Direct Debit through GoCardless, mandates can transfer in bulk without members re-signing anything. We’ll walk through your specific setup before you commit to a date.
